From People-Pleasing to Healing: Why I Created The Wellness Nook
Hi, I'm Chrissy.
For much of my life, I didn't realize how much my childhood experiences were shaping the way I moved through the world. I became the helper, the fixer, the people-pleaser, and the perfectionist. I spent years trying to earn my worth through achievement, taking care of everyone else, and ignoring the quiet voice inside that longed to be seen.
On the outside, everything looked fine. But underneath, I was often overwhelmed, exhausted, and disconnected from myself.
My healing journey began when I started asking deeper questions. Why was it so hard to set boundaries? Why did I constantly put others' needs before my own? Why did I feel responsible for everyone else's happiness?
As I explored nervous system healing, emotional wellness, personal growth, and holistic living, I began to understand that many of my struggles weren't character flaws—they were survival patterns.
That realization changed everything.
The Wellness Nook was born from my own journey of learning to slow down, reconnect with myself, and create a life that felt more peaceful, grounded, and authentic. What started as a personal healing path has grown into a collection of resources to support others navigating similar experiences.
